Download Text

After registration, Yeigo sends you a Text message. Once you have the Yeigo Text on your phone, you can just follow the easy installation and setup guidelines, provided your phone is compatible with Yeigo.

(Note: that phones vary in functionality, pictures and guidelines may not apply to all phones. If at any point you require further assistance refer to the Yeigo Knowledgebase or contact Support.)

On your mobile phone, open the Text message and click on the download link.

You may be asked if a connection to the server can be established. Select Yes.

If you can't click on the link because it does not appear to be highlighted, you need to change a setting. Go to the Options menu of your Text message and enable the feature called Automatic Find On. Then re-try clicking on the link.

While you are logged into Yeigo you can continue to perform the general functions on your phone. Select the Hide option on the bottom right and Yeigo will run in the background of your phone. You will still be able to receive calls and messages from other Yeigo users while Yeigo is running in the background.

To make a call through Yeigo, you must select a number and press the Green dial button while you are inside Yeigo, otherwise you will be making a standard cellular call.

Green indicates the best strength, yellow indicates a good strength, orange indicates medium strength, red indicates bad strength and grey indicates the worst level connection strength. On weaker signals, making calls is not recommended. However, other functionality like Instant Messaging or SMS messaging functions work well even at weak signal strengths.

Yeigo charges for calls to persons without Yeigo at very competitive rates applicable for that destination. With each new account, Yeigo provides a small amount of test credit for you to test calls to non-Yeigo users prior to purchasing credit.

Note that these rates exclude the cost of connecting to the internet.

Note that these rates exclude the cost of connecting to the internet.

Internet Costs

Yeigo is a service that uses the internet. Yeigo sends your conversations and messages in little data packets (generally called data) across the internet. You will therefore be charged by your local service provider to connect to the internet and send data.

Rates vary depending on your local service provider and whether you are using Wi-Fi or 3G/EDGE Wi-Fi is generally substantially cheaper. Your service provider could deduct this cost from the prepaid balance you have with them, include it in the bill they send you monthly, or you if you already have an existing data plan you may not required to pay anything beyond that. Some Wi-Fi public hotspots are freely available in which case you will not face any data costs. Please check the data rates with your local service providers. You can obtain lower data rates by purchasing a monthly data bundle, else you will be subjected to the higher out of bundle data rates.

Data Usage when making Calls

Yeigo uses approximately 100 KB (Kilobytes) of data per minute during a call, or approximately 5.75MB per hour. Visit our Data Usage page to learn more

If you are making a Yeigo to Yeigo call, the data cost is the only cost you will face. If you are making a call to a non-Yeigo user, you will face the data cost as well as the Yeigo Rate for that particular destination.

Data Usage when sending instant messages or chats

Yeigo uses on average about 80B (bytes) of data to send a chat of 50 characters (letters and spaces).

Visit our Data Usage page to learn more.

This is the only cost you face when sending and receiving instant messages or chats.

Data Usage when sending SMS messages

Yeigo uses on average about 240B (bytes) of data to send an SMS message of 140 characters (letters and spaces).

Visit our Data Usage page to learn more.

Note that you will face the data cost as well as the Yeigo Rate for sending an SMS to that destination.

Data Usage to stay logged in

Yeigo uses 45KB (kilobytes) a day to stay logged in, when you are not making any calls or sending any messages.

Visit our Data Usage page to learn more.

Example: If your unit of currency is £, and that the data rate (from your service provider) is £0.50 per MB, its costs you just over £0.02 to stay logged into Yeigo all day.

Check Balance

To check the amount of credit available on Yeigo, scroll to Dialer Tab. Select Options, then Check Balance.

Yeigo will retrieve your balance and display it.
