Yeigo is a service that uses the Internet. Yeigo sends your conversations and messages in little data packets (generally called kilobytes) across the Internet. You will therefore be charged by your local service provider to connect to the Internet and send data. Rates vary depending on your local service provider and whether you are using Wi-Fi or 3G/EDGE – Wi-Fi is generally substantially cheaper. Your service provider could deduct this cost from the prepaid balance you have with them, include it in the bill they send you monthly, or if you already have an existing data plan you may not be required to pay anything beyond that. Some Wi-Fi public hot-spots are freely available in which case you will not face any data costs. Please check the data rates with your local service providers. You can obtain lower data rates by purchasing a monthly data bundle, alternatively you will be subjected to the higher ‘out of bundle’ data rates. Yeigo uses approximately 100 KB (Kilobytes) of data per minute during a call, or approximately 5.75MB per hour. Use the table to determine the data cost you will face, depending on the data rate per MB your local service provider charges. The table can be applied to any currency.
Example: If your unit of currency is €, and the data rate (from your service provider) is €0.50 per MB, it costs you €0.05 per minute or €2.93 to make a one hour call on Yeigo. Yeigo uses on average about 80B (bytes) of data to send a chat of 50 characters (letters and spaces).
Example: If your unit of currency is €, and that the data rate (from your service provider) is €0.50 per MB, it costs you almost €0.02 to send 50 instant messages. Yeigo uses on average about 240B (bytes) of data to send an SMS message of 140 characters (letters and spaces).
Example: If your unit of currency is €, and that the data rate (from your service provider) is €0.50 per MB, it costs you just over €0.01 to send 10 SMS messages. Yeigo uses 45KB (kilobytes) a day to stay logged in, when you are not making any calls or sending any messages.
Example: If your unit of currency is €, and that the data rate (from your service provider) is €0.50 per MB, it costs you just over €0.02 to stay logged into Yeigo all day. |
